Who we are

Third-gen Nashville native and founder of Tater’s Hats, Peyton Foriest, not only has an extensive knowledge of hat making, but many years being recognized as one of Nashville’s best hat shapers. Growing up, Peyton’s brother coined his childhood nickname “Tater” after of one their favorite Ron White stand up jokes known as “Tater Salad.” Mr. Foriest is passionate about his work being of the highest quality. This stems from being met with disappointment throughout the years of witnessing the steady regression of the overall quality in the hat industry. He understands that people work and rodeo in their hats. To Tater’s Hats and many others, cowboy hats are more than just a piece of headwear. They’re a tool made to be durable and made to handle heavy workloads. They are very much real, valuable, and functional. We intend to create you a generational legacy with each hat you wear with “Tater’s” written in it. A hat that your children’s children will fight over one day!
